CONVERT BOOKS AND FILES FROM EMAIL TO KINDLE FRIENDLY FORMAT

 

HOW TO SEND A FILE THAT YOU RECEIVE IN YOUR EMAIL TO YOUR KINDLE SO IT IS KINDLE FRIENDLY

This may sound daunting, but it’s really super easy, especially after you do it a couple of times.  I am listing all the steps to walk you through it.

#1 add your email to your kindle's approved email list.

To add an approved email, go to your amazon, under 'your account', click account,

find & click the box that says your devices and content, 

scroll down and click the icon for kindle content (shows a reader under a tree),

click the yellow box that says manage your content and devices, 

click the tab near the top that says preferences,

scroll down and click personal document settings, [here you will also see your kindle's email address],

scroll past that and click add a new approved email address. This would be your personal email. If you do not authorize your personal email, it will NOT work.

#2 forward the email you received with the PDF or MOBI file to your kindle email address, BUT YOU MUST CHANGE THE SUBJECT TO THE WORD CONVERT as the email subject line or it will not work (no need to delete the content of the email as long as you change the subject title and the PDF or mobi file is still attached).

It will go through in just a few minutes and convert beautifully.

#2a – you can also attach your own documents into an email and forward them to your kindle email address.

Additional notes:

Leave your Amazon account page open.  After sending the PDF through email, go back to the Amazon tab you left open. 

Scroll up near the top and click the tab marked content. 

This is where you can see the items on your device.  Most likely [Show] "Books" is already selected.  Change that to [Show] "Docs" and you should see the book or ARC, and can manage/clean up any other content as well.  Once you see the book title in your list, go to your preferred kindle device and if you don't already see the book, click "sync" and it should come right through.

{Side note, this is the same section (“Books”) where your KindleUnlimited books can be returned so you can borrow more books}.

***WONDERFUL***

First time reading this author and I loved every bit of it!  Highly recommend for those who enjoy historical fiction mixed with faith, mystery, a bit of humor and romance.  This story has vivid descriptions throughout and I love all the ways Grace relates real life to the books she has read and uses her knowledge to her advantage.  Although she is highly misunderstood, she is smart, entertaining and caring and exactly who Frederick needs.  Frederick sees the value in her and is beyond intrigued; exactly who Grace needs.

Quotable: “Clearly you’ve not been reading your Sherlock. Every mystery starts with a remote theory based on inconclusive findings.”

Faith Moment: If David in the Psalms had to remind himself of the truth when his heart trembled with fear, Grace could do no less. “Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted in me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him for the help of his countenance.”

Tea Moment: “I see the tea’s been brought up for you, my lady. Would you like me to pour out?” “No thank you, Mary. I’ll see to it myself.” With a bow of her golden head, Mary excused herself, leaving Grace to the impending silence. The fire crackled in the white marble hearth, adding flickering light to the electric ones dotted throughout the room.

Mature Elements: I will mention that although tasteful in nature,  this book is probably more for mature audiences as it repeatedly shares the excitement a young couple feels after experiencing the marriage bed.

TO WRITE A WRONG by MY FAVORITE JEN TURANO - SO SO GOOD!

Hello friends. Friday night I was able to go out with my sister to a "Surviving Summer" ladies night out event with my church; the 1st opportunity I've had to do something like that in a good long while!  It was so wonderful to enjoy sweet fellowship, a meal, play games, make new friends and listen to praise reports and testimonies of God's amazing favor and love.  It left me smiling ear to ear & with my soul refreshed.

 You yourselves are our letter of recommendation, written on our hearts, to be known and read by all. And you show that you are a letter from Christ delivered by us, written not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of human hearts. Then, I happened to check NetGalley & found out my favorite author's next book had shown up! Yippy-skippy!

I think every time a chapter ended I couldn't believe how good the ending was! Why can't everyone write so well? ;)

Tea Moment: Taking a sip of tea that had long gone cold, she grimaced and set aside the cup before she flexed her fingers. Placing them over the keys of her Remington typewriter, affectionately named Almira...fervently hoped that something of worth would spring to mind to write."             

Quotable: "Herman's brows drew together. "I'm a fiction writer, Miss Beekman.  And even though I write murder mysteries, those murders, as well as the heroes who vanquish the villains in the end, are merely a figment of my imagination.  I'm far too responsible to go traipsing off to investigate an unknown noise because that could have gotten me murdered in my own house, or worse, seen the members of my staff put in harm's way."”

I love how in the heat of a crucial moment, the author takes time to add nuance and zingers! I laughed so many times! ;) "Cooper rolled his eyes before he muttered something about Daphne being obstinate, although he didn't mention anything about Ann being obstinate, then strode forward and out of the trees."

Happy to see the author used the correct wording of "champing at the bit" instead of chomping. Well done!

Faith moment: …God had never ignored her prayers for courage and that He'd continued to answer them to this day.

Daphne's mind is constantly in motion, solving problems and puzzling things out.  Sometimes it spills out from her mouth and it's fun to hear and see how others perceive her.  Herman gets caught up in her process and as they are both writers, enjoys it immensely. They fit so well together and are a delight to read about, as is the entire mystery with its many twists.

I always have trouble summarizing Jen's books because there is just SO MUCH goodness to share!  Buy it, read it, enjoy! :)

GREAT NEW TO ME AUTHOR!

I purchased this eBook back in 2017 and apparently it got lost in my Kindle as I acquired new books.  I had some extra time to read on my vacation and fell in love with this story and the writing style.  It's sweet, faith-filled and makes me want to read the FIVE BOOK series!

Seeing Barrett (Bear) and Claire work together as teachers of 34 students in the one-room mountain schoolhouse of 1891 Pine Creek, Washington was a sweet adventure as they both competed to win the teaching position.  Bear particularly had a gentle way about him that drew me in.  Their banter was a winner for me as was their natural progression toward each other.

The story referenced a Baily, Banks, & Biddle coin silver teapot which I had never heard of.  A quick internet search revealed they are QUITE valuable.  Always fun to learn something new like that.

The Heart's Charge - Hanger's Horsemen 2 by Karen Witemeyer

 

*** CAPTURED MY HEART AND TOUCHED MY SOUL ***

Seriously, you can never go wrong with a Karen Witemeyer story!  I did not think I could love a series so much (particularly after her Archer family series)!

Llano County, Texas 1894

28-year-old Mark Wallace has a heart the size of Texas and it is evidenced throughout this story! "a gentleman never abandoned a woman in need. Even if she shot at him."  I loved his gentle way with the baby.  Katherine Palmer is the woman who broke his heart and now, 10 years later, that woman needs his help at Harmony House Foundling Home.  I was captivated by their reunion.

Jonah Brooks and Eliza Southerland are guarded, but drawn to each other during the harrowing situation they find themselves in.  Kiddy snatchers have invaded the area.  It was nice having a second romance in the story.

Tea Quote: Katherine swallowed the last bit of her tea, her face scrunching at the lukewarm temperature.  Strange how something so perfect when hot left a bad taste in her mouth after the passage of time.

The kids were another interesting layer.  Some of them would be great to read about as older characters, particularly the rail-riding Rawley - leader of the young band of orphans trying to survive on their own.   While tough on the outside, he clearly has a tender-heart.

My Thoughts:

ABSOLUTELY ENTHRALLED WITH THIS STORY

Having 4 Elizabeths noted in the story was such a fun concept (especially if one's middle name happens to be that as well -smile).  As the layers of the mystery developed and eventually unfolded, getting to know the characters was something I truly enjoyed.   What made them more interesting was my initial judgment of some of them changed later on as I came to understand them better; they were not predictable.  Oliver's 95-year-old grandmother is something special.  And his grandfather, filled with kindness and tall tales was just what you'd want.  I also liked Darling, the kitten.  Libby and Oliver truly seem to "fit" without even having to try which made the reading of their story all the more pleasant.

Favorite Quote: "Everyone in the Scillies knew that when Oliver Tremayne took hold of your arm and looked deep into your eyes, he saw right down to your soul."

Tea Quote: "...his hands accepted by rote the mug of piping hot tea someone passed him.  Old Mrs. Gillis always had it ready for the racers when they got back."

Sunrise Service and Winning the Gentleman

Good morning, and blessed Resurrection Sunday to you!  I made it to Sunrise service this year and it was wonderful! They had a pancake breakfast fundraiser that was such a blessing to participate in as well.  Before we get to the book review, I also wanted to share this darling chick nature collage 2 of my daycare littles made this past week.

England, Sept 1817, Aaron Whitworth and Sophia Fitzroy are forced to work together when he accidentally hires her as a jockey. "Either God thought Aaron needed another lesson in perseverance, or the world wanted him to remember his proper place - or rather his lack of one."

Sophia is a talented rider, but she longs for more than the life of a circus performer. "Pressing her mouth into a stern line, Sophia adjusted her hold on the reins until they were taut enough to create a proper connection with her horse and pasted a smile on her face. One more show. One more evening. Then they would make their escape, running into the dark to find a new life that suited them all."

I particularly enjoyed Sophia's twin brother, Jonas, who was strong and wise, keeping them grounded in God's word, even when times were difficult or seemed hopeless.  I do hope he gets his own story.  "It's going to be all right, Soph. God promised to never fail us nor forsake us." He gave a twisted grin and a one-sided shrug. "Since Israel got that promise, besmirched though it was, what we're doing isn't going to send Him running."

Aaron is very reclusive and has built a protective shell around his heart. As I read "Was he getting lazy about keeping the parts of his life separate, or were people simply hammering their way in?" a jackhammer was literally hammering outside in my driveway.  Ha!

The support system Aaron finds actually surrounds him is touching: "There were varied qualities of clothing, varied levels of stable grime, and an absurd conglomeration of pasts that never should have brought them together, yet here they were. With him."

The love story of Aaron and Sophia is very sweet and the setting of horses and stables in England is a lovely backdrop.

Off to Ireland I Go! A Dance in Donegal by Jennifer Deibel

What a lovely, faith-filled read set in the 1920s.

This is sort of a coming-of-age tale of a young woman, Moira Doherty, who returns to her ancestral roots after her mother's passing in Boston. She is a new teacher and has a lot to learn about the local customs in the small village of Ballymann. I was drawn to the vivid descriptions: "The amber light from the setting sun set her silvery gray hair alight." Scripture was never far away throughout the chapters: "A sense of confirmation took root with her. I will never leave you. I will never forsake you." And, Oh! The tea moments ["cupan tae"] are many: "Mrs. Martin returned carrying two teacups, a kettle, sugar, milk, a few biscuits, some piping hot brown bread, and a dish of butter, all precariously yet perfectly balanced on a decorative tray. "Have a seat, darlin'. Would ya like a little cuppa?" the spry old woman asked, setting it all down on the table. "Yes, please. Moira sighed. The idea of tea brought relief to Moira's tired bones. "Mother made sure I knew the value of a good cuppa." Mrs. Martin chuckled. "She always did enjoy her tea, so she did." Her shoulders quaked with quiet laughter."

The character of Sean McFadden was charming and honorable, as were some others, but many others were not. There is a good balance of both, but one scene may give pause to anyone who has ever experienced sexual abuse; not overly detailed, but you understand the intent.

SET IN SCOTLAND - Beauty Among Ruins by J'Nell Ciesielski

 

Riveting (despite lack of faith)

Because this book is published by Thomas Nelson, I trusted it would be a faith-based novel.  It was not.  However, it is a clean story and a very good read set in Scotland regarding soldiers who are recovering from the Great War in a run-down castle with a stuffy Laird and a bevy of nurses.  Plus mysterious things keep happening endangering everyone. 

Favorite Quotes:

"Had the disease spread into the castle to rampage through Alec's study and ladle harm into innocent teacups?"

"In the back corner, Captain Gibbons and his new neighbor, none other than Lieutenant Wallace, debated the merits of bacon versus streaky bacon. There would be no winner in this debate as all bacon was delicious."

"You did claim to be capable, yes?" "Yes." He continued walking. "Good. If nothing else, I expect my daughter to be a woman of her word." Dumbfounded, Lily stared after him. It was the longest conversation she'd ever had with her father.  And what a doozy!

The author truly weaves a wonderful tale, and I would recommend it to those who enjoy an entertaining escape into history, with a bit of romance, danger, and clever wording.
